Spent the evening in the forest and watched the sun set through the pines with Kristina, Ross and their pups Bullet + Benny! Adventure sessions are my favorite because we get to explore a beautiful place and make these beautiful memories at the same time! I can’t deal with how cute these four are!!
Kristen + Eric, it was so fun to hang out with you and make these gorgeous memories! No matter how long you have been together a couples session is always such a special and fun thing to do together! I can’t get over the perfect pop of red that Kristen wore for part of their holiday photo session!
Kellie is absolutely stunning in this lace maternity gown! I could not be more happy about the fact that the fall colors came out to play for a day in Dallas! I was born and raised in Iowa where the fall colors are boundless, this was the first time in the two years i’ve lived in Texas that i’ve been able to have actual fall colors in the background of a shoot. I love it!
I do declare that Paxton is the happiest baby ever!! I can’t get enough of that smile in this session! Sunrise sessions are my favorite because i’m a morning person. I love how soft the light is coming up for the day. Sometimes families with small kids find mornings easier for photos because they are refreshed and ready to go for the day. I’m always up for them!
I still remember the first time I read “The Raven” by Edgar Allen Poe. I remember the picture it painted and I’ve dreamt of bringing it to life ever since. Poetry & Halloween, two of my favorite things.
“But the Raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
Nothing further then he uttered—not a feather then he fluttered—
Till I scarcely more than muttered "Other friends have flown before—
On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before."
Then the bird said "Nevermore."

After weeks of rain every..single..day..a gorgeous sunny evening with this sweet family! Amy wanted something different for their family photos this year as they usually do it at a nature location. I suggested Denton Square because of the beautiful sunlight it gets in the evening and the court house that towers over the square is so architecturally unique and timeless as a backdrop. We ran around and played on the lawn of the courthouse then walked over to the vintage ice cream shop in the square and ended the session in the sweetest way- with ice cream and smiles all over the kiddos faces!
I’ve always loved the idea of shooting engagements at a vineyard, Chase & Sarah made it happen 🥂 I had such a great time driving around the property of 4R Ranch Vineyards and Winery with these two and cannot wait to document their wedding here next Spring! There’s something so romantic about wedding venues like this.
Kristan messaged me wanting to do a family session with her newborn, Lindan, as soon as possible. Things got too busy and they didn’t get the chance to do a traditional newborn session. Kristan told me how much she regretted not getting photos done sooner of her little man. We planned to shoot a few days later and woke up at 5am to go to White Rock Lake in Dallas and create some magical images of their little family. I focused on Lindan and all of the little details of a newborn that make them so perfect. I love creating these kinds of memories for families!
Sara and Ashley are not just sisters and best friends- they’re also going through their pregnancies together! Both are having little boys and both are so beautiful! I was so excited when Sara told me her sister would be joining us for a few shots at the end of her session. Moments like this beg to be captured, and I’m happy to do it.
Guys, I can’t even tell you how fun this family session was! Mom is a genius and brought the boys a football to throw around, I think that is just the best idea ever! Bring something that your little ones love to incorporate for a few shots and it also serves as a way for them to have fun and let some energy out! Fall is my favorite time of year and I think its pretty obvious why, look at those colors together!
